Irish hotel The K Club has been awarded from their sustainability efforts at the 2024 Historic Hotels Annual Awards of Excellence Ceremony and Gala.
Taking place on Thursday, 21 November, the ceremony took place at The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia, with over 200 industry leaders in attendance.
Run by Historic Hotels Worldwide - the official program of America's National Trust for Historic Preservation - the awards take more than 300 historic hotels into consideration.
This year's ceremony saw 11 distinct awards presented to hotels from across the globe, with Kildare hotel and golf resort, The K Club, taking home the award for 'Worldwide Sustainability Championship'.

The accolade was granted following the 55-acre resort unveiling their new hydro-power system that will allow the hotel to harness the energy generated by the estate's stretch of the River Liffey. This will make The K Club the first five-star hotel in Ireland to be hydro-powered.
Speaking on the award, Lawrence Horowitz, Executive Vice President of Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide said: "We are delighted to honour The K Club with this prestigious award. It was chosen from an exclusive group of nominees and considered for several categories. It stands among the finest hotelss and hoteliers in the world."
